Getting Closer

Posted by:

I just heard from my editor, the wonderful Juliet Ulman, that she’s ready to start the editorial work on PRODIGAL. As I haven’t quite finished the first draft yet, I’ll be sending over the first 400 pages so she can do her thing while I’m wrapping up over the next few weeks. That way, we can aim for a late-summer, early-fall release next year.

It’s hard to believe the end is so near. PRODIGAL has been consuming my every free moment for the last 18 months, so I’ll be at something of a loss when it’s finally done. Bantam has an option for a third book, though, which means I’m already giving some thought to what it’ll be. I have a basic idea, but it will definitely need to percolate for a little while before I dare to tackle a story outline.

I also have an idea for a screenplay that I might work on between novels–which would be the first one I’ve done since those Star Trek scripts a whole lotta years back. Ah, the memories…

    Narc,
Am hooked on your writing as I enjoy cyber-thriller/techno-thrillers in general and books writter along the way you think in particular. Can’t wait for PRODIGAL as HAMMERJACK kept me in the “can’t do anything else until I finish it” mode. You remind me of Gibson but your writings are easier to follow and enjoy. 😉 I’ve been an avid reader of varied subject matters since a being 2nd grader way back in 1952 through the current time period so I know what really good writing is. *wry grin*
Hope to be reading a trade copy of PRODIGAL soon as possible next year.

Thank your for your talents, especially those expressed in word,
    warmest regards,
    Steve…
