One of the coolest things about getting a book published is the amazing cross-section of people who read your work–everybody from engineers to schoolteachers to stay-at-home moms. Sometimes they even come from different cultures and subcultures, including a few you might not have the pleasure of experiencing first-hand.
Which brings us to Azrael Racek, who runs the Gothic Revue out of Seattle. I haven’t known too many Goths in my time, but Azrael took a real shine to Hammerjack–so much that he posted a terrific review, and even interviewed me for his webzine. I was surprised at how much we have in common, in spite of my own WASPy lineage–particularly our taste in horror movies, which tends toward the eclectic.
So if you have a few minutes, pop on over to the dark side and have a look. As for the Goths that appear in my book, I’m just glad I managed to get them right!
