After posting my not-so-enthusiastic review of the Star Trek Discovery tw-part pilot episode, I wasn’t exactly sure of what to expect out of episode number three. Would it be as plodding and muddled as the initial offering, or would the writers clean up their act and deliver something better? Well, I’m very happy to report that after stumbling out of the gate, Discovery seems to have quickly found its footing. For starters, we actually get to see the titular ship–and we also get to meet her rather mysterious captain, a chap by the name of Gabriel Lorca who is played with smoldering menace by the British actor Jason Isaacs.
Anyway, I took some time after the show to talk it up with the Enterprising Individuals podcast Discoverage, which I’ve posted here for your grooving pleasure. And be sure to tune in for new podcasts, which will roll out immediately after each episode is broadcast on CBS All Access. If Discovery keeps going in the same vein, it’s only going to get more interesting from here!Share
